pediatric Systemic Lupus erythematosusAbstract
Pediatric systemic lupus erythematosus (pSLE) is a chronic autoimmune disease with complex clinical manifestations and certain special aspects that must be considered in the pediatric population. Survival has improved markedly in the last decade thanks to early diagnosis and early and more aggressive treatment. However, its prognosis continues to be grave.
We present a summary of this pathology and the case of an 11-year-old patient who was diagnosed at the Hospital del Niñ@ "Manuel Ascencio Villarroel" with SLE Class IV.
