Abstract

The SARS-CoV-2 disease or COVID-19 is a new disease and about which there is still much to know, this virus can affect different systems and organs, therefore, in order to know the ophthalmological manifestations described for now in these patients, a systematic search of the literature was carried out in PubMed-Medline and Scholar with the keywords <<COVID-19>> <<SARS-CoV-2>> << Eye Diseases >> obtaining a total of 471 articles, of which 31 were selected. It was found that the main ophthalmological manifestation is conjunctivitis, which can be found in up to 10% of the patients. Reports of neuro-ophthalmological manifestations were found, mainly oculomotor paralysis, as well as have described cases of vascular occlusions. The reported cases suggest viral neurotropism and endothelial injury mechanisms as the cause of these conditions.
